Fantastic little restaurant for traditional Vietnamese food, and all the dishes are vegetarian! I'm not vegetarian but I found all the food that my wife and I ordered to be flavourful and perfectly seasoned. The mushroom congee is loaded and is very filling. My personal favourite is the vegetarian pho, I thought I was going to miss the meat, but the mushrooms and veggies were more than satisfying. Also, the classic banh mi is wonderful and you really should try it.

Vegetarian and Vietnamese do go together! In Vietnam it's very common to find "Chay" or vegetarian spots close to the temples and cooked at home based on the lunar calendar. Being Vietnamese myself, I wasn't surprised to see a vast menu, because Vietnamese cuisine is very creative (lol, I'm biased). It must take them a lot time/love to transform the food the way they do it at Spice Cove. We had the banh mi and vermicelli bowls and both were delish. The spring rolls were stellar as were the condiments in the banh mi. Great crunch and texture. They have lots of vegan options as well. The owners are very friendly and their spot is super clean albeit small. Prices are great too. I'll def come back to try other items.

Thanks to the person who shared this restaurant in the Winnipeg vegan community. It was on my to-try list for a while because I love noodle soup very much. Today we finally find a time to try this restaurant that offers Vegetarian Pho and lots of other choices for both vegetarian and vegan. I would say everything is so amazing, from the vegetable broth to fresh herbs to little fresh brewing coffee setting, and the beef ball is a highlight with great texture, even Lemon Grass Satay is surprisingly tasty!(it’s a good spicy level with nice lemon grass aroma ) The owner and the servers are all super friendly! I’ll definitely come back again to try other dishes!

A little hole in the wall with amazing food. I love how basically everything is vegan friendly, but at the same time there are almost too many options! Their banh mi is to die for; the perfect crispy yet fluffy baguette and flavourful fillings. Service was so friendly and they gave us some cold tea before we ordered which was appreciated on such a hot day. Definitely will come again if in the area

What a gem of a restaurant ! We’re so happy to have discovered this veg restaurant as Winnipeg has such limited options. Delicious and authentic, with only the freshest ingredients used. The owners were the sweetest too! We will definitely be back!

How lucky are we? I move into the north end and 3 months later as does a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant! On this visit I brought home spring rolls vermicelli and Sichuan tofu. There is room for dine in but only for about 10 people. The Sichuan tofu was nice and spicy as advertised. Too spicy for my partner , but it had a nice tomato flavour and tingly Sichuan peppercorns. I would have liked some veggies included with the tofu and little faux sausage nuggets for variety, but I know the Mapo tofu upon which this dish must be based doesn’t typically have em. The large spring roll vermicelli came with 10 of the most delicious umami bombs (spring rolls). They have nori seaweed under the wrapper. Mmmm. And in the middle is a delicious meaty, dare I say bean mixture? Typically at non veg Vietnamese places vermicelli bowls are served with a hoisin based sauce but here they have a vegan fish sauce. So it’s nice to get the more traditional presentation! The owner and her family (I presume) are very charming. On our first visit she was wearing a hat that said, “Why would I want to be normal?” Or something like that. I can relate to that.

This is the best restaurant in Winnipeg! Since trying it earlier this year we come back with friends often. They have so many options and we keep trying new things and everything is amazing! I dream of this place. It's so affordable and we always have leftovers to take home. The family is so kind and welcoming.

I recently discovered Spice Cove Bistro and it was truly an amazing hidden gem. My cousin and I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything sounded so delicious. We shared some spring rolls and received two different kinds, a bahn mi and a Vietnamese curry dish. Everything was so flavourful and exciting. The owner was wonderful and explained to us the regions where our dishes were from within Vietnam as well as the differences in cuisine throughout Vietnam. She was so nice and welcoming. It’s a family run business, everything is made fresh and you can see your meal being prepared. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, meat eater or not, there is something delicious for you to try. I would also highly recommend it to anyone vegan or vegetarian because there are so many options. I can not wait to go back and try more incredible dishes.
